Our dentist at Trail Dental & Surgery can apply thin, porcelain veneers to the fronts of individual teeth to mask imperfections and alter the look of a patient's smile.
Bring Back Your Bright Smile
Veneers are thin, tooth-coloured ceramic shells that a dentist permanently bonds to the fronts of individual teeth. Each veneer is custom-shaped and shaded to ensure a natural appearance before being applied to the tooth.
Veneers can provide a lasting fix for cracked, chipped, stained, or slightly misaligned teeth, and they are resistant to staining from food, drinks, and cigarettes.
Veneers do more than conceal stains; they can also improve the appearance of chipped, uneven, or irregularly sized teeth. By refining the shape and length of each tooth, veneers can help to create a more balanced and symmetrical smile.
At our clinic in Trail, we use CEREC® technology to place ceramic tooth-coloured veneers in just one visit.
The Procedure
The veneer placement procedure is a relatively quick and easy way to alter the appearance and shape of your teeth, and requires little to no anesthesia.
To begin, the dentist will do a 3D scan of the tooth surface. This scan acts as a virtual model of the tooth, allowing for a precise, custom fit.
Once your veneers are ready, often in just one visit with CEREC technology, they’re permanently bonded to the fronts of each tooth, providing instant results for your smile transformation.
The Results
When closely comparing porcelain veneers to your natural teeth, you may notice small variations in the colouring between the two.
That said, colour variations can even occur in natural teeth, and the casual observer will likely not notice these.
Some patients may decide to have a teeth whitening procedure before having veneers placed so that the colour of the veneers is matched to their whiter, brighter shade.
